PE-22-28

PE-22-28 Peptide

PE-22-28 is a synthetic derivative of the naturally occurring peptide spadin. Spadin is a secreted peptide derived from sortilin. It is an antagonist of the TREK-1 (TWIK-related potassium channel) receptor. This is being studied in research models related to depression and neurodegenerative diseases.

Chemical Properties of PE-22-28 Peptide

How does PE-22-28 work?

PE-22-28 is a small protein-like molecule that blocks the TREK-1 channel, a pathway linked to brain and mood control. Stopping TREK-1 may help brain cells become more active and improve connections between them.

Preclinical studies suggest it may support cell growth. It is being investigated in research settings for its potential role in brain-related conditions.

What are the potential benefits of PE-22-28?

Researchers are investigating PE-22-28 for its several potential benefits, including the following:

• PE-22-28 may help reduce stress and depression
• It may improve brain cell activity and connections
• PE-22-28 may support brain cell growth (neurogenesis)
• Research shows it may enhance mood and emotional stability
• It may protect brain cells from damage
• It is being explored in research for potential relevance to brain-related conditions

Note: It is strictly intended for research purposes and is not approved for human consumption.

PE-22-28 in Muscle Function Research

PE-22-28 blocks the TREK-1 channel, which may help regulate muscle activity. Researchers are investigating whether TREK-1 modulation by PE-22-28 influences muscle activity and relaxation in laboratory studies.

PE-22-28 in Depression Research

PE-22-28 is examined to increase brain cell activity and strengthen their connections. This process is linked to better mood regulation and reduced stress. Studies are exploring whether PE-22-28 influences mood regulation pathways by modulating brain chemistry. Researchers are exploring its possible effects in depression-related models.

PE-22-28 in Post-Stroke Studies

After a stroke, brain changes are associated with mood alterations. PE-22-28 is being studied in experimental models for its potential effects on neuronal recovery and post-stroke outcomes.

PE-22-28 in Neurodegenerative Research

PE-22-28 is being investigated in neurodegenerative research models to assess whether TREK-1 modulation influences neuronal survival and growth. Researchers are investigating whether supporting brain function with PE-22-28 may have relevance in models of neurodegenerative conditions.
