6-OXO

6-OXO – Product Information

6-OXO, also known as Androstenedione or 4-androstene-3,6,17-trione,s a derivative of the hormone androstenedione and is classified as an aromatase inhibitor.

What is 6-OXO?

6-OXO is a compound that was commonly utilized as a testosterone booster. It is also known by its chemical name, 4-Androstenetrione. It was marketed as a natural way to potentially increase testosterone levels and improve performance; however, there is limited evidence in the scientific literature to support these claims.

6-OXO is also called an aromatase inhibitor. Researchers investigate 6-OXO for its potential to raise levels of total testosterone, free testosterone levels, and DHT.

In essence, Androst-4-ene-3,6,17-trione is a novel anabolic compound that, in a number of in vitro experiments, has demonstrated naturally occurring aromatase inhibitor properties ( or suicide inhibitor of aromatase). [R]

How does 6 -OXO (naturally occurring aromatase inhibitor) work?

4-androstenedione is a steroidal hormone that has 19 carbons in its structure and is produced in the gonads as well as the adrenal glands. It plays an important role in the biochemical pathway that leads to the production of testosterone, estrone, and estradiol by acting as an intermediary step. In a study, 6-OXO was found to irreversibly bind to the aromatase enzyme thereby causing a very substantial reduction in estradiol production.

6 -OXO Research

Numerous animal and human studies have been conducted on the potential application of 6 -OXO. Below follows some of the relevant findings:

6-OXO on Hormones

The study investigated the effects of 6-OXO (androst-4-ene-3,6,17-trione) on hormone levels and safety markers in resistance-trained male subjects over eight weeks. The compound was marketed as a potential aromatase inhibitor, which means it affects the conversion of testosterone to estrogen. The results of the study showed that the compound had an impact on the subject’s hormone levels.

The only significant changes that took place over the course of the study in terms of the serum hormones were overall elevations in free testosterone, dihydrotestosterone, and estradiol levels.[R]

To fully understand hormone production, additional research is recommended because, despite the fact that 4-androstene-3,6,17-trione may have some positive effects on increasing hormones, it also has the potential side effects, as the hormonal ratio is critical for achieving optimal body composition

6-OXO on Increase Testosterone Levels

The study of 4-androstene-3,6,17-trione was carried out on a total of six male subjects. According to the findings, a-trione has the potential to significantly raise testosterone levels while having only a minor impact on the estrogen ratio. As a result, a-trione has the ability to raise the testosterone ratio while maintaining estradiol levels within the safe range, thus preventing estrogen-related side effects. [R]

However, it is important to note that while 4-Androstene-3,6,17-trione can have some benefits for male hormone balance, it can also have potentially harmful side effects; thus, further study is recommended to understand its effects on testosterone production.

6-OXO on Lean Muscle Mass

As mentioned above, 6-OXO has the ability to raise the testosterone ratio.[R] Testosterone has a positive effect on muscle mass and muscle protein synthesis through its ability to bind to and activate androgen receptors, increase insulin-like growth factor-1, and enhance the utilization of amino acids.[R] Thus, it can potentially produce lean muscle mass and solve issues related to low muscular development.

However, there is little to no evidence of a direct relationship between 6-OXO and overall body strength, so it is still recommended that more research be conducted to determine the direct hormonal effect on the production of lean muscle in humans.

6-OXO on Decreased Body Fat

As previously mentioned, 6-OXO is capable of increasing testosterone. [R] A study suggests that testosterone treatment in obese men, characterized by an excess fat gain in the body, may have a positive impact on body fat and body composition. The treatment led to significant decreases in body fat and increases in lean mass in the treatment group.[R]

However, it is important to note that these results are specific to the study population and may not generalize to other populations. Also, there is little to no evidence of a direct relationship between 6-OXO and reduced body fat in humans. Thus, further studies to fully evaluate its effect are recommended.

6-OXO Potential Side Effects [R]

6-OXO may disrupt the balance of hormones in the subjects, leading to negative side effects related to the following:

In male subjects, symptoms included decreased sperm production, shrunken testicles, painful or prolonged erections, the development of breast tissue, changes in behavior, and an increased risk of heart disease.

Is 6-OXO safe?

In addition to a lack of consistent evidence of direct benefits, the potential long-term effects of 6-OXO are unknown. Purerawz sells 6-OXO for research purposes (lab supply) only.

Summary

6-OXO is a compound marketed as a natural testosterone booster and an aromatase inhibitor. It can potentially increase total testosterone, free testosterone, and DHT levels, and has the potential to increase lean muscle mass and decrease body fat. However, there is limited evidence to support these claims, and more research is needed to fully understand their effects and potential side effects.
